Whatever is sifted through the hedge of God’s grace;
Whatever is allowed to squeeze through His loving arms;
Whatever He allows to enter through the ramparts of His protection –
surely is His plan for our good.
For whatever comes – good or bad – meets all of God’s demands and moves us towards the goal of true maturity in Christ.
God sits sovereign and reigns supreme. Satan is not God’s equal, he is God’s servant, and as such, must request God’s permission to touch our lives. We are that well-guarded by God’s power.
So, even if a thing is, to us, the worst possible scenario, it is not outside the sovereign rule of God over our lives. He perfectly watches over us and perfectly loves us, so that every single thing that comes to us has been weighed out by Him and determined to be for our good – not necessarily for our comfort – but for our good. That “good” will conform us more into the image of His Son, which is the goal of our pilgrim journey.
